MEF aims for 2013 release of cloud-computing, SDN standards

The industry organization Metro Ethernet Forum is working on standards for cloud computing and software-defined networking that it plans to release by the end of next year. "First we will document some use cases, and then we will define what kind of management models and interfaces are needed to enable them," technical editor Ben Mack-Crane says of SDN over carrier-grade Ethernet.
