Deutsche Telekom connects CERN data centres

(Telecompaper) Deutsche Telekom International Carrier Sales & Solutions (ICSS) and T-Systems Switzerland have been appointed to provide a high-speed data connection between the CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research) data centre in Geneva and a newly established, remote data centre operated by Wigner Research Centre for Physics in the Hungarian capital Budapest. The Ethernet connection supports transmission speeds up to 100 Gbps. Computer systems will be able to transmit enormous volumes of data via the high-speed Deutsche Telekom ICSS connection between the Geneva and Budapest sites.
