BT Openreach announces trial, pilot for 220/20 Mbps service

(Telecompaper) BT Openreach will run a technical trial of its Generic Ethernet Access (GEA) FTTP 220/20 Mbps product variant from 1 February to 28 February in four exchange areas. The locations concerned are Bradwell Abbey, Chester South, Exeter and York. Once the trial is complete, the wholesale operator will run a pilot between 1 March and 31 May, expanding the area for the 220/20 Mbps service to the rest of its GEA-FTTP footprint across the UK.
