GTT Buys IDC Global, Moves Into Cloud Services

GTT made another inorganic move yesterday with the announcement that it has acquired Chicago’s IDC Global. Over the last few years, GTT has been busy transforming itself from a reseller into a network provider in its own right. The purchases of PacketExchange and nLayer gave them an IP/MPLS/Ethernet backbone, and they’ve been spending some capex to expand that footprint further in recent quarters.
