About Mark McDonald
Mark McDonald is the vice president of product management at Overture Networks. With over 25 years in the telecommunications industry, Mark brings extensive experience to Overture’s product management team. Mark began his career at Bell Labs in the early days of fiber deployments, and has participated in several network evolutions including DLC’s, PON’s, Wireless Local Loop systems, and most recently the evolution of Ethernet into the carrier network. Mark was vice president of product management at Ceterus Networks (acquired by Overture), and prior to that he was vice president and general manager of the wireline product group for ADC Telecommunications Corporation. Mark has also held a number vice president-level positions for Marconi Communications (formerly Reltec Corporation), including product marketing and business development. He previously held director positions in marketing and systems engineering for DSC Communications. Earlier in his career, McDonald worked as director of product development for Rockwell International and Alcatel. He holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Cornell University and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Oklahoma State University. Mark has two patents.
